Important Info about
In-Person Support
&
Covid-19

As the situation changes, we aren't always sure if doulas will be allowed in for support. However, if you advocate for yourself, it is possible you can get a visitor exception.
If you book in person support and I cannot come in with you, I will still provide what in-person care I can, and support virtually if that is your desire.  I will also offer additional postpartum support in lieu.

In-Person Support
Pricing:

$1475

Ask me about my scheduled cesarean birth package. Discounts available for military families, and payment plans are also available.

In Person Birth Support

When you hire me for in-person birth support, you get:

  • A birth doula certified through two excellent doula training organizations, with over 8 years of support experience, and a training credential in a third organization, several additional birth practitioner courses such as Spinning Babies,  as well as a certified childbirth educator. Please visit About Me for more information on my training and experience.

  • 1 - 3 Prenatal visits in your home or a mutually agreed upon 3rd location to get to know you & your partner, build a rapport, learn your desires and wishes for birth, as well as impart any information you are seeking on pregnancy or childbirth (NOT a prenatal education course) (I aim for a minimum of 3, but depending when you might hire me, we may have less)

  • I am available to you via phone, email, or text from the signing of the contract & payment of deposit, until you go into labour or are induced.

  • I am on call for your birth 24 hours a day for two full weeks on either side of your due date.

  • When you go into labour, I stay in close contact with you via phone or text, providing advice and support as well as suggestions for labour comfort until you request I join you in person, either at your home or in the hospital, depending on where you feel I can best support you.

  • I attend your place of birth with you and your partner, and stay with you providing continuous physical and emotional support, labour comfort techniques, a listening ear, knowledge on hospital processes and procedures, as well as a calm presence and endless non-judgmental support to you as you birth your way, so you feel supported and informed throughout the birth process.

  • After your baby has arrived, I stay with you for 1-2 hours after the birth, providing help with immediate postpartum needs, such as helping feeding get off to a good start, ensuring you and your partner eat, and so on until you are all comfortable, settled, and ready to be a family unit.

  • In the first two weeks postpartum, I visit with you twice, once within the first few days and the second before the end of the second week, in order to process your birth with you, if you wish, and help you with any newborn challenges you may be facing. I also remain in phone and text contact during this period, as often as you wish.

Support for All Births

As a birth doula, I support all birthing choices, be it drug free, medicated, epidural, cesarean birth, home, or hospital births. My support is completely non-judgmental, and I will support you with whatever choices you make, even if they differ from what you thought you wanted in the beginning. I am there to support YOUR birth journey, however that looks like for you.

I also support all birthing persons, and do not discriminate based on gender, sexual orientation, colour, religion, or any other reason. I strive to be an ally to all and would be pleased to support you during your birthing time.

Free Consultation

I offer a free, no obligation consultation for all my services. If you would like to meet me to ask any questions, get to know me, and learn more, please email me at joyfulmomentsbirth@gmail.com. I look forward to meeting you!
